Organizational Setting |
The Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications implements the IAEA's major programme on nuclear techniques for development and environmental protection (Major Programme 2). This major programme comprises individual programmes in food and agriculture, human health, water resources, environment and radiation technologies. These programmes are supported by laboratories in Seibersdorf, Monaco and Vienna. The major programme's objective is to enhance the capacity of Member States to meet basic human needs and to assess and manage the marine and terrestrial environments through the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in sustainable development programmes. The Division of Physical and Chemical Sciences is one of several divisions and laboratories in the Department. It is responsible for carrying out IAEA activities to assist and advise Member States in assessing their needs for research and development in the nuclear sciences, as well as in supporting their activities in specific fields, including: industrial applications of radiation and isotopes; isotope hydrology and geochemistry; nuclear and analytical chemistry; atomic and nuclear data for applications; plasma physics applications; controlled nuclear fusion; production of radioisotopes and labelled compounds; radiation chemistry and utilization of research reactors. The Nuclear Data Section is responsible for producing and disseminating fundamental atomic and nuclear data to Member States. |
Main Purpose |
Reporting to the Section Head and providing support to a group of Professional staff, the Team Assistant contributes to the efficient operation of the office by providing assistance and advice on the administrative practices and procedures. |
Working Relationships |
The Team Assistant obtains, provides or clarifies information with staff at all levels in the Nuclear Data Section on matters related to the assignment, relays instructions from the supervisor, gathers information and documents, and reminds officers of deadlines. She/he may exchange standard information with officials outside the IAEA. The Team Assistant may provide guidance to temporary or more junior staff. |

Remuneration |
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at €35 512 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), six weeks' annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance. |
