Project Details:
Public Transport Review of Cities Part II: Regulatory, Institutional, Financial and Fiscal Arrangements for selected 5 cities (selected in consultation with World Bank), which may be from the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh/Punjab/Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Project Duration: 6 Months (Intermittent Basis)
Scope of Services:
a) Assess the types of legislations and regulatory framework and processes involved in managing city bus operations
b) Review the institutional arrangement responsible for bus operations directly or remotely.
c) Assess the existing fiscal arrangement made available for the sustenance of the operations and applicable taxing policy (tax burden on the bus operating authorities for purchase/import/operations of buses) and subsidies for public transport.
d) Identifying gaps and constraints due to skewed legislative, regulatory, institutional, financial and fiscal arrangements.
Expert’s required for the project:
Public Transport Expert - with at least 10 years of experience and good understanding of institutional and regulatory structures relating to the public transport sector in India and strong understanding of city bus operations and financials.
