This role is part of the Policy Advocacy and Campaigns department which campaigns on international development issues, from Tax Justice to biofuels to women’s rights. As Activism Officer you will lead activism plans and develop a network of active campaigners. You will also support our campaigns by creating and implementing activism strategies involving supporter facing campaigning and engagement activities, develop and deliver training and work directly with our most active and committed campaigning supporters. In addition you will play a key role delivering ActionAid's community engagement and activism strategies across traditional fundraising and campaigning boundaries.
You will have experience of developing strategies and plans for supporter/volunteer engagement and the development of and sustaining supporter networks. You will have organised campaigning actions, events and initiatives and developed excellent knowledge of different approaches to organising and campaigning. Comfortable working with cross-organisational teams you will be skilled at building relationships and an effective communicator. An understanding of the UK’s political process would also be ideal.
