The role
Working in our Manchester Geotechnics office with industry
recognised leaders in their field who offer technical development and
mentoring, you will be part of a UK-wide team of over 35 professional
staff providing a full range of geotechnical consulting work.
This role will see you managing the operational side of the
business in the Manchester office (a team of 15 to 20) together with
being part of a team involved in a range of small to large sized
projects from inception to completion. You will have a deep knowledge
of geotechnical engineering processes to enable you to design, undertake
and manage projects from proposal preparation through to managing
fieldwork and then undertaking design, analysis and reporting. You will
drive the business through successful delivery of your projects and
through business development activities.
Typical projects include residential and commercial developments,
local government projects, dams, tunnels, large civil infrastructure and
mining projects, roads, rail, earth retaining structures and pavements.
The person
You will be an experienced and Chartered ground engineering
professional with a degree in Civil Engineering or similar subject, and a
relevant post-graduate qualification, with demonstrable geotechnical
engineering/design experience. Strong written and verbal communication
skills coupled with the ability to work cooperatively within a team
environment is highly desirable. An underlying enthusiasm and keen
interest in developing your geotechnical consulting skills will see you
succeed in this role.
