Department

The Audio and Visual Services team is responsible for the running and development primarily of web-based audio and visual services, including BBC iPlayer Radio, the Podcast & Download Service and treatments of “off schedule” audio, video (e.g. clips) and images. The team also works closely with platform experts in Audio & Music Interactive, contributing to the development of audio and visual services on other platforms including mobile and digital TV.

Role

You'll support pan-network audio related projects, including but not limited to the BBC iPlayer Radio, UK Radioplayer, Mobile Services and the Download/Podcast Service.   You wll also have day-to-day responsibility for the operational management of the download/podcast services and delivering project related tasks that feed into the development of key A&Mi multiplatform Audio Visual services.  You'll be required to liaise with colleagues across A&Mi and FM to ensure timely and accurate delivery of content and metadata and undertake regular updating and maintenance of content.  (See the job description for the full scope of duties).

Requirements

You will need to have proven experience of working on projects as well as experience in managing relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.  You will have a keen interest in BBC radio output and associated interactive services as well as an awareness of developing new media technologies and trends, particularly around audio and video.  You'll have sound editorial judgement, short-form writing skills and some web production experience (basic HTML/XML editing), with an aptitude for making best use of photographic images in the context of online. You will also need to be a good team player, along with the ability to work well under pressure, to tight deadlines.
