THE ROLE

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our busy team in Perth to act as technical specialist. The Analysis and Design Team is a specialist group within the wider Geotechnics Perth office specialising in technically challenging and complex projects.

Reporting to the Analysis & Design Team Leader, the main objectives of the Principal Geotechnical Engineer include:

• Carrying out professional work involving substantial independence in approach, demanding a considerable degree of originality, ingenuity and judgement. 
• Planning, implementing and delivering project work on time and budget with technical excellence being the focus
• Help further develop a strong client base through client relationships, client management and aspects of business development
• Help mentor more junior members of staff, providing knowledge platforms, technical and analytical tools
• Develop unique solutions to challenging projects; and further the geotechnical knowledge of the wider community through publishing of papers in technical journals
• To provide staff with the opportunity to attain the highest level of geotechnical skills and knowledge through mentoring and training
• Act as a positive role model and lead by example with regards to HSSE

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold qualifications in civil/geotechnical engineering or engineering geology
• Be a member of a recognized industry association or body
• Have relevant professional experience in a consulting environment (ideally locally in Perth) coupled with the a very high standard of technical knowledge
• Have very strong written and verbal communication skills
