The role
Reporting to the Mining Manager WA, the objective of the Principal
Mining Engineer is to carry out effective mine engineering work
including audits, due diligence studies, feasibility studies and
technical reports. This specialist role will be primarily responsible
for mine engineering and technical reviews, audits, due diligence and
feasibility studies.
Under the direction of the Mining Manager, responsibilities of this role will include:
- Managing peers including conducting performance reviews, training and technical development and maintaining internal quality control
- Training and technical development of mining group personnel
- Assisting the Mining Manager WA with business development and preparation of proposals
- Ensuring personnel utilisation and revenue meets or exceeds budgeted targets
- Ensuring that proposals are submitted proactively and in accordance with established policies
The person
To ensure your success in this critical role, you will have
tertiary qualifications in Mining and preferably be a member of AusIMM.
You must have extensive practical mine planning experience, preferably in both open pit and underground. You will have broad financial management skills and demonstrated management and production experience. An experienced professional with strong written and verbal communication, you will be team orientated with exceptional interpretative and analytical skills.
Applicants skilled in mining software (preferably Vulcan, Surpac or Minesight) and familiar with the various international reporting standards will be highly regarded.
