Virgin Atlantic Airways Senior Information Reporting Analyst


Role Purpose

To design, develop and deliver robust and timely revenue information & analysis to the business, including supporting recommendations as appropriate.

Responsibilities

Revenue Reporting
 
To ensure consistency of reporting policy, act as the primary point of contact on day-to-day reporting issues, data questions and report queries.
 
Develop programs or system queries to retrieve and analyse data for projects or reports, requiring sophisticated inferential techniques.
 
Confer with individuals originating, handling, processing, or receiving reports ,to identify problems and to gather recommendations for improvements in order to ensure clarity of purpose and continued relevance.
 
Design, produce and maintain, standard, monthly revenue updates and departmental performance reporting, to enable managers to ensure optimal performance from staff and third party suppliers.
 
To assist other business areas in planning and monitoring progress against agreed targets, design, produce and maintain detailed, high quality reports as and when required, often to tight deadlines.
 
Produce ad-hoc revenue analysis and summaries for business managers to assist in budgeting and forecasting.
 
Prepare and issue instructions for reporting analysts, concerning generation, completion, and distribution of reports according to new or revised practices, procedures, or policies as agreed.
 
Continually review and evaluate purpose and content of existing business reports to develop new, or improve existing, format, use, and control.
 
To ensure that revenue reporting is current, accurate and relevant, develop understanding and comprehension of any new system changes as they affect data, reports, and reporting systems. ·
 
Recommend to senior management, the establishment of new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information.

Requirements

Advanced level of analytical skills developed as part of a degree in an analytical discipline
 
Proven and successful experience of using multiple sources of data to analyse trends and produce concise commentaries and reliable forecasts
 
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and working knowledge of data bases and data warehousing.
 
Excellent business and commercial judgmen
 
Clear understanding of airline industry commercial trends and practices including yield management, pricing and sales
 
Demonstrated ability presenting to small work groups on both technical and functional requirements.
 
Proven ability to work in a team and across departments
