DP Operator - DPO
The Dynamic Positioning Operator reports into the Stability Section leader and holds responsibility for DP watch keeping and ensuring effective communication with the Driller and Engineers on duty.
This position is for Brazilians, due to national content requirement.
Main responsibilities:
- DP watch keeping and communication with the driller and Engineer, whilst keeping constantly informed of what operations are in progress on the drill floor.
- Handle and operate both the ballast system and the damage and leak protection system
- Monitoring and keeping control of the drilling unit, it’s draft and position
Required Experience:
Applicants must have previous experience in Dynamic positioning, holding the relevant Operators logbook as verification, as well as experience of Ballast control room operation.
Strong communication skills are essential due to the nature of this role, as is experience from working on a semi drilling platform or drillship environment.
As a global organisation and to ensure a safe working environment, it is essential that all applicants have a strong level of English, both written and oral.
Required Qualifications: All certificates must be current and nationally recognised.
- Relevant Qualification as DP Operator – Relevant to the Kongsberg Simrad DP System
- Relevant Qualification as Ballast Control Room operator
- Valid Offshore Survival Course, OPITO or equivalent
- Valid Offshore Health/Medical Certificate
