Planning and Construction Engineer in Kahama

Kahama Shinyanga Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KASHWASA) is a fully autonomous public water utility established to operate a water supply scheme from the Lake Victoria to Shinyanga andKahama towns, as per Government Notice No. 45 of 23rd February, 2007. The establishment of the Authority was in accordance with the Waterworks Act. Cap. 272, which has been repealed and replaced by the Water Supply and Sanitation Act, 2009. The Authority is based in Shinyanga Municipality and is charged with the responsibility to supply bulk water to other water entities including the water supply and sanitation authorities in Shinyanga and Kahama towns as well as 41 Village Water Committees located in Misungwi, Kwimba, Shinyanga and Kahama Districts.

KASHWASA wishes to recruit suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacant posts:-

Reporting to:Technical Manager

Duty station:Head Office, Shinyanga Municipality

Qualifications:

Holder of a Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution and must be computer literate in designing of water networks. He/She must be registered by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Carrying out investigation of water works for connection of new customers.

Making investigation of water works for future development.

Carrying out data collection, compilation and evaluation of water works.

Supervising surveys and preparing drawings of proposed water works, structures and buildings.

Designing proposed water works and buildings and preparing drawings and specifications.

Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates for water and building works.

Monitoring and supervising all design and construction works under the Authority.

Proposing technical and economic guidelines for the development of water supply networks.

Preparing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports regarding planning and construction activities and compiling similar reports from other departments/ units.

Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Technical Manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

In service employees must posses the above qualifications and have at least four (4) years working experience and a good track working record.

Age Limit

Not above 45 years for all posts.
