Senior Policy Analyst, Offshore Transmission, Band C


As a key member of the Offshore Transmission team, reporting to a Senior Manager, you will contribute to the successful ongoing development of offshore transmission regulatory policy. This would include assisting in the development and refinement of regulatory policy framework for offshore transmission networks, helping to deliver efficient, coordinated network outcomes and effective competition for these major new renewable energy investments and achievement of the UK’s renewable energy 2020 target. You will also be involved in considering the longer term development of the competitive regulatory regime for offshore transmission and develop effective outcomes to address significant policy and incentive issues and challenges for future competitive tenders.
Key requirements:
  • Demonstrable expertise in policy development and implementation in a commercial or public sector environment.
  • Proven ability to assimilate and analyse a wide variety of information quickly and effectively – including regulations, policy and stakeholder inputs.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, being able to apply these in delivering internal and external documents and presentations.
  • Good self manager – able to priorities tasks and ensure that key outputs are delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience (preferably in engineering, economics, finance or similar discipline).
  • Sound knowledge in the regulatory aspects of the gas and electricity markets is desirable.
