Community Program Assistant- University Of Minnesota Monarch Lab

Description
Part-time (50%) community program assistant. The community program assistant will work with the Monarch Lab PI and staff to help conduct science-based conservation and outreach programs, including Monarchs in the Classroom, the Monarch Larva Monitoring Project, and the Monarch Joint Venture (http://www.monarchlab.org, http://www.mlmp.org,http://www.monarchjointventure.org). The position involves performing and completing projects using independent judgment; development of program communications (reports, correspondence, newsletters, grant proposals, outreach materials, evaluations, and website); and communication with scientists and students. Qualifications:
Essential qualifications include an undergraduate or higher degree (or equivalent experience) in biology, environmental education, environmental science, or related field; strong organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills, including oral presentation skills and ability to use appropriate communication technologies with a variety of audiences and settings; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, keeping track of and meeting deadlines; knowledge and skill working with Microsoft tools, especially Access, Excel and Word; ability to work independently as well as collaboratively; and ability to find information quickly using internal and external resources.
