Relationship and Programming Manager - DFID

The British Red Cross (BRC) helps vulnerable people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. It is part of the largest voluntary humanitarian organisation in the world.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in our growing relationship with the Department for International Development (DFID). The British Red Cross also manages the relationship with DFID for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and its member national societies.
Specifically, you will be responsible for providing institutional oversight of the British Red Cross’ relationship with DFID as well as ensuring sound and effective accountability of DFID funding to the British Red Cross and IFRC. You will work with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to implement a donor relationship management strategy for DFID
You will have lead responsibility for the effective coordination of the British Red Cross’ DFID Programme Partnership Arrangement (PPA) grant ensuring appropriate systems are in place and followed for monitoring, reporting and funds dispersal.
You will play an active role within the British Red Cross and IFRC in providing support and guidance to programme teams and field offices throughout programme design, monitoring and reporting processes, coordinating the input of all involved.
For this key role, you will require significant experience of building and maintaining institutional donor relationships, as well as managing grants from such donors, ideally from DFID. You will be familiar with developing and reporting on significant project proposals, in addition to monitoring and evaluating their progress. Given the focus of this role, overseas humanitarian field experience and/or experience developing and managing humanitarian or development projects is important.
