Associate Manager, Technology Communications (Platform)
Facebook is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to support Facebook’s Platform and services for app developers. The successful candidate will have strong experience executing high-profile communications initiatives, is an excellent writer and has a good understanding of mobile platforms and the developer ecosystem. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park, CA headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Build and implement vertical PR programs that excite both developers and users
- Interface and consult regularly with cross-functional teams across the company
- Educate users, press, bloggers, analysts and influencers about Facebook Platform and Facebook’s developer services
- Drive positive coverage in technology, business and games trade media
- Support and manage the creation of press materials, stats and customer/partner reference programs
- Work closely with external PR agencies to develop campaigns that reach users, developers and partners
- Organize press briefings, media sessions, and events
- Prepare briefing materials and manage executive spokespeople
Requirements
- 4+ years professional experience, both agency and in-house preferred
- Experience prepping and presenting to executive spokespeople
- Experience managing crisis situations, developing press statements and writing FAQ and messaging materials
- Experience managing complex press events
- Strong project management and decision-making skills
- Preferred experience managing PR agencies and contractors
- Ability to stay calm under intense pressure an think and communicate strategically with a variety of people
- Deep understanding and passion for Facebook and web/mobile app platforms
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
