Maps & Indices Risk Analyst
We are looking to appoint an experienced and efficient quantitative analyst to work on Maplecroft's 160+ indices and maps. Our indices and maps analyse political, economic, social and environmental risks worldwide and their significance to business and society. We are particularly keen to hear from those with a political science and/or environmental background. A global outlook, including an avid interest in international events, is essential for this position.
Assignments / responsibilities are likely to include the following:
- The identification of suitable indicators to quantify political and environmental risks
- The development of indices and models to measure and compare risk using robust methodologies
- The analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
Subject to experience and / or advancement, team members will manage internal and external facing projects and / or communicate directly with clients on deliverables. Experience in managing client relationships and responding to media enquires would be advantageous.
Candidates should have a Master’s degree or PhD in addition to at least one year of relevant fulltime work experience. Candidates should also have advanced IT skills and demonstrable proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite, including advanced excel/spreadsheet skills. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a proficiency in interpreting and analysing sizeable data sets.
This position requires an ability to manage time effectively and work under time pressure. Applicants should be innovative and creative, with strong interpersonal communication skills, and comfortable working in an interdisciplinary, multi-cultural team with formal peer review.
