Who we looking for
Head of Digital Transformation 
that will collaborate closely with the Calouste Gulbenkian’s Foundation (CGF) Digital Task Force, senior leadership and a diverse staff from all departments. Successful candidates must exhibit creative approaches to problem solving and enjoy a deeply collaborative working environment.
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is currently engaged in developing a new digital strategy to further its mission and seeks a Head of Digital Transformation to help the Board of Trustees to design and implement the institution’s future digital approach.
Qualifications and essential skills:
  • A thorough working knowledge and track-record of best-practice in Information Technology for a large-scale cultural or philanthropic institution, with proven track record of developing and managing content-rich websites as well as mobile sites and apps.
  • Mature organizational skills and ability to collaborate successfully within large cross-functional project teams.
  • Knowledge of current web development practice and agile project management experience required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly about technology and digital media to non-technical colleagues.
  • Must possess sound management skills with regard to projects, budgets and personnel with a proven ability to collaborate across departments, leading teams with or without direct authority.
  • A deep understanding of current and emerging-technologies as well as a nuanced view of cultural and technical trends
  • Ability to manage a team, including software developers, graphic and web designers, and content producer
  • Experience with user-centered design and responsive web design.
  • Acquainted with agile software development frameworks.
  • Familiar with open source projects related to web development and databases.
  • Ability to report about online key performance indicators.
  • Advocated of ideas of openness and transparency.
  • Established network among digital professionals including presentations at international conferences.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and think creatively in order to formulate ideas, write detailed project specifications, manage project plans, gather relevant content, and critically evaluate the success of projects.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced and innovative environment
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  •  Leadership and management responsibilities for the outline, preparation and implementation of the Foundation’s digital strategy
  • Lead the development of the Foundation's portfolio of web and digital platforms, working in close collaboration with Foundation colleagues in Content Strategy and Digital Engagement, IT, External Affairs, Curatorial, and Education
  • Conceptualize new web/digital initiatives, make strategic recommendations, and develop appropriate plans, specifications, budgets, and metrics for success
  • Determine optimal data/content configuration for dissemination to multiple Foundation platforms via the content management system as well as aggregation by external sites and apps
  • Act as primary liaison with Foundation staff on all issues pertaining to public-facing web platforms
  • Manage workflows, deadlines, and budgets for multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Monitor, review, prioritize, and schedule relevant work requests and production issues to ensure timely deliveries and resolutions
  • Test and evaluate projects based on quantitative criteria (user surveys, usability studies, usage metrics, etc.)
  • Establish and enforce standards, systems, and procedures for websites, apps, and other digital platforms
  • Coordinate with various departments on the integration of the Foundation's public-facing digital platforms, including but not limited to the customer relationship management system, ticketing system, media library, collections management system, and ecommerce system
  • Consult with Foundation departments on best practices for HTML email production Advise on customized reports and traffic projections for External Affairs and other Foundation departments
  • Present digital initiatives as needed to Trustees, donors, senior leadership, and other Foundation staff
  • General supervision and leadership responsibilities for all digital-based projects of the Foundation Manage and schedule the collaborative digital strategy project to successful completion
  • Integrate and apply technology and digital media across the organization to achieve the overall strategic goals of the Foundation.
  • Provide for a solid and reliable digital infrastructure that facilitates data-driven decision-making based on integrated reporting and analytics

Position: Head of Digital Transformation in Lisbon, Portugal (Head Office of the CGF)
Supervisor: Board of Trustees
Duration: 3 years (renewable)
Salary: Depending on experience
