PROGRAMME DIRECTORS

SIPRI, a leading think tank dedicated to independent research into conflict and security, is recruiting two Programme Directors. These are very senior positions within SIPRI, for which we seek outstanding and innovative scholars with an international reputation.
 
Armed Conflict
SIPRI’s Armed Conflict Programme monitors and analyses trends in violent conflict around the world, as well as their causes, dynamics and consequences. The peace operations and conflict management research projects collate comprehensive information on multilateral peace operations and analyse significant trends in peace operations and their impacts, and support policy developments. The Armed Conflict Programme regularly holds high-level policy dialogues and supports track‑II negotiations.
 
Military and Security Expenditure
SIPRI has studied developments in world military expenditure since 1967. The Military Expenditure Programme monitors and analyses trends in military spending over time, looking at their economic, political and security drivers and their implications for global peace, security and development. The SIPRI Military Expenditure Database covers 172 countries and contains consistent data for the period since 1988. Looking ahead, SIPRI wishes to study in more detail government expenditure on security in general.
Applicants should have demonstrated strong leadership, fundraising and project-management skills.
