DFID Burma: Health Adviser

Health Adviser

DFID Burma is seeking an experienced and energetic Burmese health specialist to take up an exciting role to support Burma’s historical political transition process and to help transition DFID’s health and nutrition programme. As part of DFID Burma’s Human Development team and alongside one other Burmese health adviser, the post holder will support DFID’s health sector work, assisting in planning and oversight of the new phase of the health programme, and representing DFID in discussions with government and other development partners.
The post holder will have a particular focus on communicable disease control, including DFID’s programmes to reduce the threat of drug resistant malaria, as well as technical partnerships between Burmese and UK health institutions. The post will involve some travel across Burma to oversee and monitor the impact of health programmes.

Governance Adviser

DFID Burma is looking for a talented and energetic person, with strong general management and representational skills, and governance advisory expertise to take up a unique role in Burma’s transition. You will seek out opportunities to support the new Government and Parliament, designing and implementing governance programmes to help the new Government govern, strengthen Parliament and support wider public sector reform. You will have a broader role in helping the wider DFID team in Yangon engage with the new Government across sectors, as one of DFID Burma’s senior staff members in the capital Naypyidaw.

Education Adviser

DFID Burma is looking to recruit an experienced and energetic Burmese education specialist to take up an exciting role to support Burma’s historical political transition process and to help grow DFID’s education programme. As part of DFID Burma’s Human Development team and alongside an international education adviser, the post holder will support DFID’s education sector work, assisting in planning and oversight of the new phase of the education programme, and representing DFID in discussions with government and other development partners.
Eligibility: applicants should have the right to live and work in Myanmar.
