Technical Advisor II, Knowledge Management and Learning

Description:

FHI 360 is seeking qualified candidates for the position of, Knowledge Management and Learning Advisor for an anticipated USAID-funded global SBCC procurement to support countries in achieving desired improvements in health and development outcomes, including increasing demand for family planning (FP) satisfied with modern contraception; ending preventable child and maternal deaths (EPCMD); achieving and maintaining an AIDS-Free Generation (AFG); and achieving a malaria-free world. The advisor will promote collaboration and effective knowledge exchange among project partners and with external stakeholders. This position will ensure that the project produces and disseminates high quality knowledge, tools, and lessons – through implementation science, routine monitoring and evaluation, and implementation experience – and supports their application and use by global, regional, national, and local audiences.
Availability of this position is contingent upon release of a solicitation by USAID and recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project to FHI 360 and final USAID approval of the candidate. This position will be based in Washington, DC.

Job Summary / Responsibilities:

  • Provides vision, technical leadership, and management support for the project’s knowledge management activities and ensures their alignment with the overall project goal and objectives.
  • Develops, leads, and oversees implementation of strategies and tools to foster knowledge sharing throughout the project with a range of audiences.
  • Builds relationships with leading global and regional projects and agencies including USAID/Washington, USAID missions, other USG agencies, NGOs/FBOs, governments, and the private sector, in order to exchange knowledge on state-of-the-art approaches in maternal and child health and nutrition in development and emergency contexts; communicate project achievements; advocate for and facilitate innovation/best practice transfer; and build the capacity of local partners in knowledge sharing strategies.
  • Monitors and evaluates project knowledge sharing efforts and opportunities for process
  • improvement.
  • Represents the project to funders, partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Serves as a core member of the project’s management team.
  • Supports production of timely and accurate financial and programmatic reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree required (PhD strongly preferred) in social sciences, public health, communications, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience working in global health and preferably in nutrition, food security and/or agriculture.
  • Substantial understanding of knowledge management theory, practice and tools.
  • Exposure and experience working in multiple countries preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of USG policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain productive working relationships with a wide network of partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
