Senior Director for Operations: Southern Africa Region

World Vision, ( www.wvi.org ) the world's largest international Christian humanitarian aid organization, seeks a Senior Director for Operations (SDO) for our Southern Africa region, position is based in Johannesburg. World Vision is committed to partnering with the people of Southern Africa to enhance their lives today and to help enact sustainable solutions for the future of their communities, families, and children.

The SDO is the #2 position within the region and his/her primary responsibility is to lead the operational performance of the region; s/he will ensure that regional line ministries and support functions work collaboratively across the regional office and with the World Vision Global Centre for the primary purpose of providing excellent operational support to the national offices.

The SDO has shared oversight for the following management support
functions: Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs (HEA), Finance, Human Resources, Quality Assurance, Security and Communications.

SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:
We are looking for a leader and manager with the following attributes:
Track record of significant and successful senior management and leadership experience at the Country Director, National Director and/or Regional level of an International NGO.

Ten+ years in field based relief and development assignments
Knowledge and experience in international development and emergency relief (domestic or international).
Experience living and working in the Southern Africa region strongly preferred.
Strong networking skills; previous experience building coalitions with bilaterals, multilaterals, government, foundations churches, the NGO community and corporations.
Knowledge of financial management, audit and compliance of multi-million USD budgets. Strong track record with donor agencies.
Masters degree or equivalent experience in management
