Afghanistan Chief of party
Chemonics International seeks a chief of party for the anticipated follow-on project to the Afghanistan Stabilization Initiative (ASI). ASI-II is a USAID-funded Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) program that aims to support the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the U.S. military in achieving stability in the country. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:
Provide overall technical leadership and supervisory management
Serve as the primary liaison with OTI in Afghanistan, other project stakeholders, and Chemonics' headquarters
Oversee program operations and security
Supervise a large and diverse staff
Provide compliance oversight and quality assurance for all project activities including grants, procurement, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation
Qualifications include:
Advanced degree in public administration, law, international development, management, or other relevant field
Minimum six years of experience supervising complex, fast-paced, and challenging field operations in developing countries; experience with OTI programs highly desirable
Experience liaising with U.S. military personnel and international nongovernmental organizations highly preferred
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Experience working in developing countries required; experience working in Afghanistan or on rapid transition programs in insecure environments desirable
English fluency required; fluency in Dari or Pashto a plus
