ODI (www.odi.org.uk) aims to inspire and inform policy and practice to reduce poverty by locking together high-quality applied research and practical policy advice.

The Humanitarian Policy Group is seeking a Communications Assistant to maintain and update HPG/HPN websites and social media feeds (Twitter and Facebook). You will also provide general communications support as required.

About the job:

• Digital Communications: HPG/HPN websites and online tools, emarketing, social media, and monitoring & evaluation.
• Media Support: maintain and update the media log, prepare regular summaries, oversee the maintenance of ODI’s media contacts database, drafting copy for media release. • Team support: support the HPG Managing Editor in the production of HPG/HPN published material; support the communications team in other tasks as appropriate.

You will have knowledge of and interest in web content management systems and experience using social media tools for professional purposes and good writing and editing skills. You must have excellent organisational and administrative skills, confident communication skills (at all levels) and the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks. You are self-motivated with the ability to generate new ideas and bring them to fruition.
