Energy Analyst
1. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Implement the work of the IEF Secretariat relating to energy data transparency in general and the Joint Organisations Data Initiative in particular.
• Draft high quality energy reports and analysis as required in line with the IEF Secretariat programme of work on the transparency of oil and gas markets, and other related issues;
• Assist in drafting agendas and papers for IEF Secretariat events at Ministerial and/or Executive level;
• Provides assistance in organizing events (workshops, conferences, seminars) relating to JODI and data transparency;

The position requires good background of energy industries, market data and energy statistics. The Energy Analyst will be working closely with a JODI Analyst under the supervision of the Energy Director to improve and maintain market oriented database, in particular JODI Database, and make it user friendly and available to the fingertips of data users around the world, by offering a single webbased access point (jodidata.org, a portal which gives general public accessibility to free statistical data).
2. PRINCIPAL CONTACTS:
The Energy Analyst:
A. Reports to the Energy Director with whom he has frequent contacts.
B. Supervises the work of the JODI Analyst.
C. Maintains contacts with relevant counterpart in the JODI partner organizations as well as other relevant international organizations.
D. May participate as Secretariat’s representative at international meetings and functions in his/her area of expertise.
3. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A. B.S. Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or closely related fields is required.
B. 79 years' experience in the field of energy, in particular in the oil and/or gas sector.
C. Proficiency in English (oral and writing).
D. The Energy Analyst must have the ability to handle problems in a rigorous, analytical fashion. Experience must have been sufficiently broad, in particular in the oil and /or gas sector.
4. CONTRACT
The position will be located at the IEF Headquarters in Riyadh Saudi Arabia.
