Minimum Qualifications:
• Applicants should hold a Doctorate in Spanish (Literature and/or Culture) or Hispanic Studies

Special Expertise/Area of Concentration in any of the following areas:
• Significant teaching experience, at the tertiary level in Spanish (language and Hispanic literature) or Hispanic Studies
• Research and Publications in any area of Spanish Language and Literature or Hispanic Studies
• Native or near native competence in spoken and written Spanish
• Additional qualifications and teaching experience at the tertiary level in Latin American Studies will be considered an asset

Special Responsibilities:
The appointee will be required to teach in the Spanish undergraduate as well as postgraduate degree programmes (both language and literature) and to supervise postgraduate students. They will be involved in the design of possible new courses and will collaborate with colleagues in teaching, administration and extra-curricular events organized by the Department and the Faculty. Experience in WebCT or web based programmes would be an asset.
