Senior Economist & Economist ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO)

ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), located in Singapore, was established in April 2011 by Finance Ministries and Central Banks of ASEAN+3 (China, Japan and Korea) countries. AMRO is tasked to (a) conduct macroeconomic and financial surveillance of the members, (b) assist the members in timely formulation of policy recommendations to mitigate economic and financial risks, and (c) assist the members if they are utilizing financial resources of CMIM.

AMRO is seeking one Senior Economist and a few Economists starting in January 2012 (three-year fixed term, to be extendable at the discretion of AMRO Director). SENIOR ECONOMIST will lead a group of economists conducting macroeconomic surveillance (incl. field missions), delivering quarterly surveillance reports and individual country reports, and studying and presenting policy recommendations on CMIM related issues. ECONOMIST will conduct AMRO’s surveillance activities under the supervision of Senior Economist.

The candidate should possess: (i) an advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or related fields from a reputable university (For Senior Economist, Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or related fields from a reputable university, or MA/MBA with outstanding experience and knowledge); (ii) Excellent analytic skills in economics and finance; (iii) At least five years (or ten years for Senior Economist) of relevant working experiences; (iv) Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; and (v) a nationality of ASEAN+3 countries.

AMRO offers competitive level of remuneration and, for non-Singaporeans, expatriate benefit packages (e.g., housing assistance) pursuant to the internal guidelines.
