Thailand Technical Officers

Malaria Consortium is one of the world's leading non-profit organisations dedicated to the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria Consortium works with communities, government and non-government agencies, academic institutions, and local and international organisations, to ensure good evidence supports delivery of effective services, providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation of programmes and activities for evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. The organisation works to improve not only the health of the individual, but also the capacity of national health systems, which helps relieve poverty and support improved economic prosperity.

The Technical Officers will provide technical support in M&E and surveillance at sub-national levels, as planned under the GFATM R10 grant. The Technical Officers will work closely with DDC and BVBD to achieve the goals set by the grant partners. He/she will work under the supervision of the Programme Manager, and receive technical oversight from the M&E and Surveillance specialist based in Bangkok.

The successful candidates will: • Master Degree in Public Health/Health Sciences with at least 5 years experience, preferably in the field of malaria. • Strong background in managing health projects with a particular emphasis on quantitative and qualitative monitoring and evaluation. • Experience in Behaviour Change Communication methodologies and evaluation • Demonstrated understanding of routine health information systems, and literacy in management information systems, databases and web-based systems desirable. • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with national and international staff, and maintain strong working relationships with partners. • Literacy in computer software (Office suit) and statistical packages. • Excellent command of Thai and English with exceptional writing and communication skills.
