The start date for the position is June 2012.

This is suitable for students considering a technical role in a software development organisation. There are a number of roles in different teams.

Release Engineering Key Tasks Include:

Key Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Processing & problem solving of Oracle Translation Kits in the translation life cycle, coupled with identification and resolution of any issues. Involved with suggesting and implementing ways to improve processes.
  • Learn Oracle technical process’s for the life cycle of translation kits
  • Use methodical approach to identify and track down problems
  • Become familiar with Oracle software tools, internal scripts and code
  • Can be involved with some coding to improve or automate procedures
  • Be involved in the testing of various internal tools and scripts

Tools QA Key Task include:

Key Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Quality Assurance (QA) of translation tools products, mainly Translation Factory (TF) and HyperHUB (HH)
  • Understanding the software development life cycle
  • Creating test plans based on customer requirements & development specs.
  • Executing manual and automated tests on assigned patches and major releases
  • Identifying bugs and issues on assigned projects. Working closely with Developers to assist in resolution

Global Application Engineer Key Tasks include:

Key Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identification and resolution of problems (bugs) found in the translated versions of Oracle Applications CRM and E-Business suite
  • Use methodical approach to identify and track down problems
  • Apply bug fixes to source files using software tools
  • Contributing to the root cause analysis of the bugs
  • Pro-actively contributing to and improving the bug triage process.

Qualifications

  • At least two years completed of a third level qualification (Degree) in Computer Science/Applications or related science or engineering discipline
  • Knowledge/Experience in these areas would be an added advantage
    • Linux, UNIX
    • SQL, PL/SQL
    • PERL
    • Java, JSP and HTML
    • Relational databases
