Advocacy Manager
12 month contract, Full Time

UNICEF Australia has an opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Advocacy Department. The Advocacy Manager will lead on strategy and implementation of the Department’s advocacy and education initiatives and campaigns on a 12 month maternity contract.
Reporting to our Director of Advocacy and Communication the successful candidate will have:
· Strategic and analytical skills and the ability to identify and develop innovative solutions and initiatives
· Considerable experience working in the international development sector, including experience in the field (5+ years)
· Direct experience working with government at different levels
· An in-depth knowledge of children’s rights and experience of working within the human rights sector
· Demonstrable ability to implement youth participation models and experience working directly with children and/or young people
· The ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Outstanding relationship, interpersonal and presentation skills
This is a maternity leave position for 12 months starting in February 2012 and requires occasional work out of regular hours.
A competitive salary commensurate with the charity sector is offered together with the availability of salary packaging to achieve a tax effective total salary package.
