TheAfrican Union, established as a unique Pan African continental body, is chargedwith spearheading Africa’s rapid integration and sustainable development bypromoting unity, solidarity, cohesion and cooperation among the peoples ofAfrica and African States as well as developing a new partnership worldwide.Its Headquarters is located in Addis Ababa, capital city of Ethiopia.

Inseeking to achieve this objective, the African Union intends to strengthen itscapacity to deliver by, among others, the implementation of its organizationalstructure and the filling of all vacant posts.

TheCommission of the African Union invites applicants who are citizens of MemberStates for the post of Network Operator.

2. Major duties and responsibilities:

· Administrationof the implemented Operating Systems

· Managementand administration of Intranet, Internet and Extranet as well as theTelecom networks

· administrationof security procedures and access to the networks and servers

· Controlof privileges and access authorization to the network and data

· Carryingout of archiving operations and saving of data

· Managementand administration of links of the Centre with the Commission of the AU and theFocal Points

· Participatein the dynamic of the Situation room

· Managementand promotion of the Information Technology and Telecom Assets of the Centre

· Participateentirely in the achievement of objectives assigned for the NetworkAdministrator

3. Educational Qualification Required

Candidate must have at least Bachelor degreein electronics and communication systems, anyadditional certificates related the field would be an added advantage.

4. Work Experience Required

Candidates must have at least five (5)years experience in networking field.

5. Other Relevant Skills Required:

  • Good experience in administrating Networks
  • Excellent knowledge of Operating Systems and network equipment (Rooters, Switch, Firewall …etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge in Information networks and their tools of administration
  • Great experience in Information Security
  • Rich general culture

6. LanguageRequirement:

Proficiencyin one of the African Union working languages (English, French, Arabic orPortuguese). Knowledge of other working languages would be an added advantage.

7. Age Requirement:

Candidatesshould preferably be between 25 and 35 years old.

Remuneration: Indicative basic salary of US$14,145.00 per annumplus other related entitlements- e.g. Post adjustment (48% of basic salary),Housing allowance ($13, 248.00 per annum), education allowance (75% of tuitionand other education related expenses for every eligible dependent up to amaximum of US$7,800.00 per child per annum), etc for internationally recruitedstaff of the commission.
