Hernic Ferrochrome (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Corporation, is the 4th largest integrated Ferrochrome producer in the world, situated in Brits, North West Province, about 30km from Pretoria, 50km from Johannesburg and 15km from the Hartbeespoort Dam.


The organisation is an integrated mining company, which has its own chrome ore resources as well as four furnaces, one of them being the biggest ferrochrome-producing furnace in the world.

The purpose of this role in the Finance Department is to take responsibility for the total Commodity Procurement and negotiating of mining, engineering and general goods and services. The incumbent will: • Monitor and control the quality, price and delivery of goods purchased • Ensure TCO and economy of scale for commodity buying • Develop and control continuous improvement • Control the commodity processes, vendor performance, expediting of outstanding orders to ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements: • Relevant degree/National Diploma as minimum • 5 years’ purchasing experience • Experience in working with approved vendors, conducting audits, negotiating contracts and conducting financial analysis • Experience in Microsoft Office and Syspro system.
