Triodos Investment Management Emerging Markets, part of the Triodos Bank Group in the Netherlands, manages specialised funds that invest in financial institutions specialised in the provision of microfinance and SME finance in developing countries, globally. Furthermore Triodos Investment Management provides finance through management of dedicated funds to 'Fair Trade' organizations. Our aim is to contribute to sustainable economic development in these countries. Because of increasing activities, we are looking for entrepreneurial individuals to fulfil the position of:

Investment Officer, Microfinance & Sustainable Trade
Latin America Region
(32-40 hours a week)

Applicants must be nationals of a European member state or have a valid work permit for the European Union.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of loans
  • Initiate, maintain and deepen contacts with (potential) clients, financial institutions and other relevant parties
  • Analyse financial statement, undertake risk assessment and write loan proposals; obtain support for finance proposals by presenting findings to the investment committee
  • Negotiate tariffs and conditions
  • Be a representative of the Triodos Bank and our mission

Functie-eisen

Your profile:

  • Academic degree, preferably Business Economics
  • Affinity with the goals of Triodos Bank
  • Affinity with microfinance & sustainable trade
  • Significant banking or other relevant experience (3-10 years) with a focus on (international) finance, preferably as an account manager
  • A result-oriented, open and entrepreneurial work attitude
  • Excellent communication and networking skills
  • Fluent in English both orally and in writing
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Affinity for legal aspects
  • Willingness to travel abroad on a regular basis
