Position Description

The Committee on Degrees in History and Literature at Harvard University invites applications for full year appointments, to begin in Fall 2012, at the level of TF or TA in: America, Britain, Medieval, Early Modern Europe, Modern Europe (Britain, France, Germany), Russia, Latin America, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, and South Asia. We are interested in candidates who take comparative and transnational approaches, and especially those with expertise in transatlantic and post-colonial studies.

Basic Qualifications

Completion of general exams, approval of dissertation prospectus, and teaching experience are required. All candidates must have a strong interdisciplinary background and must be able to design and execute interdisciplinary tutorial programs for sophomores and juniors, direct senior theses, advise students on curricular matters, evaluate examinations, essays and senior theses, and conduct senior oral examinations.
