Supportive Enabling Environment Component Leader, Jordan

Supportive Enabling Environment Component Leader, Jordan

We are currently seeking Supportive Enabling Environment Component Leader candidates for an upcoming five-year USAID-funded project in Amman, Jordan, focused on building industry competitiveness, improving the business policy environment, developing the workforce, and improving access to finance for the ICT, biotech, and clean-technology sectors. The position is contingent upon ACDI/VOCA being awarded the program.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the government of Jordan (GOJ) in developing a National Innovation Policy, with a particular focus on cluster development in the targeted sectors, in partnership with members of the public, private sector, academia and civil society.
  • Support implementation of a coordinated and effective public-private effort to attract international investment.
  • Provide assistance to the GOJ to ensure that business incentive programs and trade promotion efforts are streamlined and transparent.
  • Provide limited trade capacity building assistance to the GOJ to support accession to the Patent Cooperation Treaty and Madrid Protocol, ensuring that the GOJ fulfills its commitments in the U.S.-Jordan Free Trade Agreement.


Qualifications


  • Master’s degree or higher in respective technical or business/financial fields and at least eight years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in related technical field with 10 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience in providing leadership and managing highly complex technical or financial interventions.
  • Experience relevant to cross-cutting program issues, including gender, youth and mitigation of geographically oriented wealth disparities.
  • Strong writing and oral presentation skills
  • Excellent English is required and Arabic is desirable.
