Context

Diageo is investing in a new Luxury Products Packaging facility at Leven to support its goals and aspirations to produce super premium luxury products in a bespoke manufacturing operation.
This new facility will be focussed on producing luxury and super premium products to the highest quality standards and as such the operators responsible for running this facility must be able to demonstrate total commitment to manufacturing excellence and an absolute passion for product quality and customer service.

Diageo Leven is a white and brown spirits and RTD production facility operating 24/7 with an output of 35-38 Million cases per annum consisting of:
3 bottling halls - 21 Bottling lines
1 Luxury Products Area – 2 lines
1 RTD production facility
Bulk and cask spirit storage

Purpose of Role

As part of the LPA team, the role will involve ensuring that all equipment is performing at optimum levels to ensure quality and operational efficiencies. This will be achieved through the implementation of a world class maintenance standards and identification and delivery of process improvements which will support the delivery of our manufacturing excellence programme.


Top 3-5 accountabilities

1. Ensure consistent day-to-day running of all production processes and packaging equipment and must pro-actively support LPA team and respond promptly to any equipment failures or quality performance related issues.

2. Plan and implement effective maintenance procedures for all process and packaging equipment to minimise downtime, maximise operational efficiencies, maintain quality performance and ensure compliance with all H&S and compliance legislation and Risk Management Standards

3. In collaboration with LPA team leader and key operators identify and implement process improvement initiatives to support delivery of our manufacturing excellence programme

4. Must be able to design/develop and manufacture bespoke bottle handling change parts to support brand development agenda


Qualifications and experience required

Must be time served engineer preferably with HNC qualifications and experience of using machine tools
Ideally looking for someone who can demonstrate an extensive experience and a successful track record from working within a high volume premium quality manufacturing process. Specific bottling operation experience a distinct advantage but not essential.

They will also have personal skills, which include technical aptitude, attention to detail and computer literacy.
This type of role will entail elements of physical manual handling activities. There is no working with vibration equipment, lone working or working within a confined space
