Innovation Manager Africa
The regional team based in London will lead game changing innovation programs across Africa which are scaleable, multi market and complex in nature (consumer behaviour change/technical development/supply/commercial RTM). They require a holistic business model approach.

Support delivery of game changing opportunities to deliver £100M
b) Market Complexity
Market complexity is significant as Diageo Africa works across a number of categories and cultures with broad business diversity of portfolios and operating models (wholly owned to joint venture). Our focus is Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.
c) Leadership Responsibilities
Support the development of £100M game changing opportunities across Africa (concept/liquid/pack, growth driver codification)
Develop clear test market and roll out plans and lead project cross functional teams to deliver on time and within budget through the Navigate process.
Stakeholder influencing agenda (Marketing/Innovation Directors, GBT’s)

Purpose of Role
This role plays a major part in driving the innovation agenda for Diageo Africa. The agenda is challenging and will be achieved by the creation of highly differentiated brands, products, delivery systems and business models, which satisfy our customers’ and consumers’ current and future needs whilst at the same time meeting Diageo’s financial aspirations
The post holder must be able to manage the end to end process with a focus on test market & roll out plan development & execution. A key part of this role is disciplined project leadership and management , commercial acumen and executional excellence. The Innovation Manager will support projects that are aligned with the Africa Innovation agenda.

The role will be responsible for supporting a number of £100M game changing opportunity and will require expertise in the following functional capabilities:
- Strategic Penetration – Balances intuition and data to reach breakthrough solutions and action plans
- Marketing & Innovation Judgement – has an instinctive feel for what will work with consumers and customers and creates commercially viable options to meet these.
- Commerciality: develops close working relationships with sales teams to ensure exceptional execution of plans.
- Motivating & Inspiring Cross Functional Teams – builds great relationships and aligns individuals and teams to a common goal. At a global, regional and local level.
- Project Management – excellent project management skills that delivery the pipeline on time and within budget.
Qualifications and experience required
Qualifications
Educated to Graduate level preferably within Marketing or a business related subject.
Experience
Innovation and marketing experience preferably within an FMCG environment.
