Nkonkobe Local Municipality Jobs

The Nkonkobe Local Municipality is a Category B Municipality, established in terms of the Municipal Structures Act. It has its administrative seat in Fort Beaufort and its Council seat in Alice. The Nkonkobe Municipality comprises the historic towns of Alice (home of University of Fort Hare), Fort Beaufort, Hogsback, Middledrift, Debe Nek, Seymour and Balfour. Nkonkobe Municipality falls under the Amatole District Municipality in the province of the Eastern Cape.

LED ASSISTANT
Salary: R67 000 per annum (all inclusive and non-negotiable)
(1-year renewable contract)

Minimum requirements:

  • • A Grade 12
  • • A 3 year qualification specialising in Economics
  • • Good communication skills.


Key performance areas:

  • • Compile and maintain database of all co-operatives and SMME’s
  • • Promote Black Economic Development
  • • Assist in mobilising communities and other institutions involved in LED
  • • Assist hawkers and co-ops in accessing funds
  • • Arrange training and campaigns
  • • Perform administrative and secretariat work
  • • Promote and support sustainable employment creation initiatives to ensure growth and development
  • • Build good relations with organised Economic Development structures and provide necessary support
  • • Compile monthly reports
  • • Perform all other general duties associated with the post.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Salary: R107 508 - R139 548 per annum

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma in Computer Science or Diploma in Information Technology Systems
  • A+, N+, CAN, MCSE or 2-3 years’ relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of IT operating systems, especially Windows, Exchange, Citrix
  • A good understanding of computer systems hardware, principles and protocol
  • Hands-on experience of installing IT hardware and software
  • Familiarity with financial packages
  • Confident communication skills
  • Ability to read and analyse technical reports
  • Driver’s licence.


Key performance areas:

  • Install, configure and maintain computers and equipment
  • Oversee software applications
  • Plan and implement network security
  • Administer network stations
  • Troubleshooting
  • Site visits
  • Make repairs to computer hardware
  • Liaise and negotiate with hardware and software suppliers and other service providers
  • Monitor access to computers and computer systems
  • Perform all other general duties associated with the post.

CHIEF FIRE FIGHTER:

Ref EC127/CS/F/02
Task Grade 15: Salary: R246 552 - R320 040 per annum

Minimum requirements:

  • • A Grade 12
  • • Diploma in Fire Technology or equivalent qualification
  • • 3-5 years’ operational experience
  • • Computer literacy
  • • Driver’s licence.


Key performance areas:

  • • Managing and finalising of the budget and operating budget
  • • Plan activities of the section
  • • Compile monthly reports
  • • Identifying staffing requirements and determining crew levels in accordance with safety standards and operating procedures to ensure compliance
  • • Liaising with role players
  • • Manage staff in the section
  • • Ensure that standard operating procedures are developed and adhered to
  • • Perform all other general duties associated with the post.

INTERNAL AUDITOR - PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Salary: R107 508 - R139 548 per annum

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma in Internal Auditing/Accountancy
  • Knowledge of IDP and budget processes
  • 1-2 years’ relevant experience in strategic planning or auditing environment
  • Computer literacy.


Key performance areas:

  • Audit File preparation, carrying out performance engagements
  • Conducting performance audits for every department within the institution and its entity
  • Prepare quarterly reports on audited performance information, do follow up audits on implementation of auditor general’s recommendations
  • Advise management on objective setting and alignment of IDP objectives
  • Assisting in the preparation of a draft and final report
  • Provide internal audit of the adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare audit programme on key areas, testing audit assertions
  • Document systems descriptions for audit purposes
  • Understand risks and controls mitigating those risks
  • Participate in the control adequacy assessment
  • Participate in the key control identification
  • Perform the assignment planning, lead the audit fieldwork
  • Perform all other general duties associated with the post.
