Professorial salary is on the College's Professorial pay banding scheme, and this post can be filled at any point in the professorial scale. The initial point of Band 1 of the College's Professorial pay banding scheme is £58,508 inclusive of L. A.

The School of Management is looking for staff who can contribute to high quality research and teaching in order to consolidate and advance the School’s national and international standing.

In particular, we wish to appoint a scholar with an international reputation to a Chair in Management Information Systems or one of its cognate specialisms. We would welcome applicants working in any areas within this field, but especially in information systems management, e- commerce, e-government, social implications of information technology, ICT and development, knowledge management, systems thinking, and new media.. The successful candidate will join the Technology and Information Management Subject Group, which is one of five such groups within the School and has 9 members. The research undertaken within the TIM group is characterised by an interest in international, comparative and critical approaches to management information systems, operations and technology. The subject group contributes across the whole range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the School, including a successful Masters programme in Business Information Systems.

Applicants are expected to have:

  • A post doctoral qualification or equivalent, with substantial experience of high-quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level in Management Information Studies.
  • A successful track record of supervising postgraduate students, at a level appropriate to Management Information Studies.
  • A significant track record of high-quality outputs in leading journals, press or other outlets as appropriate.
  • Evidence of ability to compete successfully against peers for resources to support research as appropriate.
  • Successful and sustained track record of generating research income that is notable in terms of size and scope as appropriate to Management Information Studies.
  • Evidence of having built, and continuing to build, networks and relationships at a national or international level.
  • Previous and ongoing contribution to the RAE/ REF or equivalent.
