Public Sector Integrity, Research Coordinator

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

The Research Department is recruiting a Research Coordinator for its Public Sector Integrity Programme at the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S). The Research Coordinator is tasked with coordinating key aspects of the Public Sector Integrity Programme, particularly the implementation of National Integrity System Assessments and other relevant diagnostic and engagement tools. S/he will also play a key role in working with the Programme Manager on the overall design and roll-out of the Public Sector Integrity Programme, with a particular focus on ensuring an effective engagement of the TI National Chapters throughout the programme cycle.

Main function: Coordinate public integrity assessments and public sector engagement projects

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation of relevant diagnostic and engagement tools, with a particular focus on the National Integrity System (NIS) Assessments and other Public Sector Integrity tools, by TI National Chapters
  • Conduct training workshops on respective tools and provide ongoing technical assistance and quality control during the implementation
  • Analyse cross-country results and lessons learned from the implementation of these tools and transform them into appropriate project promotion and advocacy products
  • Lead the strategic and methodological review and evaluation of existing tools as well as the development of new tools in identified areas of public integrity
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant institutions and experts in respective fields of public integrity
  • Assist with the sharing knowledge on public integrity issues across the movement and to engage the movement effectively on the implementation of the programme
  • Support the Public Sector Integrity Programme Manager in overall programme design, consultation, programme promotion and resource mobilization

Knowledge, experience and skills:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in political science, public administration, international or development economics, law, sociology or a related social science discipline
  • Minimum five years’ work experience, with a focus on international project coordination, preferably on an applied research project
  • Sound knowledge of tools, research methods and policy issues in the good governance and anti-corruption field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent networking, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in training/capacity-building a distinct advantage
  • Track record in fundraising an advantage
  • Fluency in English (written, spoken) with additional international languages an advantage
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, online communications and related applications, including Excel.

TI Secretariat reserves the right to appoint to another staff level subject to education and qualifications.
