Purpose of the Position
Under the overall guidance and leadership of the Strategic Planning Manager, is responsible for technical assistance in the Cards and Gifts planning, to ensure coordination of activities for a US 50
million p.a. approximate operation and in setting and managing the business planning cycle. This includes the support to the regular review and renewal of the global Cards and Gifts Strategy and the
support and coordination of cross functional activities and processes performed by the various Cards and Gifts units to ensure strategic and operational goals and priorities are met.
The Business Planning Specialist is responsible for supporting the Strategic Planning Manager in the monitoring of Cards and Gifts overall goals, in the definition and execution of related plans, and for proposing and acting on required courses of actions on areas like planning, budgeting, annual work and training plans, JSPs, cross functional activities and meetings.
Key Expected Results
1. Effective Cards & Gifts Global budget management
2. Effective development and implementation of all relevant planning tools in support to Cards & Gifts, like the development of the annual management, work and training plans, the annual business review, the annual budget, with the involvement of C&G Lead Team and staff.
3. Consolidation of inputs from the various C&G functions and communication to Senior Relations Team as part of the Joint Strategic Planning process.
4. Effective Cards and Gifts stakeholder management.
5. Policies, operating procedures and manuals integration related to Cards and Gifts.
6. Effective cross functional coordination across Cards and Gifts units as well as across PFP.
7. Consolidation of inputs from the various C&G functions and communication to Senior Relations Team as part of the Joint Strategic Planning process.
8. Cards & Gifts management and work plan developed and implemented
Qualifications of Successful Candidate
  • Advanced University Degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Management Sciences, Economics or equivalent.
  • 5 years work experience in strategic and operational planning or finance with growing responsibility for budget/cost centers in leading fast moving consumer goods companies and/or international organizations; wit at least 3 years spent in an international headquarter role.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of one other UN language (preferably French or Spanish) would be desirable.
