The Global Payroll Manager is responsible for all payroll processing including processing of non-salary staff entitlements data within the Payroll system, production of payslips, generation and reconciliation of accounting data, financial reporting of payroll, answering queries from staff, FNM, auditors and other departments as and when required.
He/she performs the following duties:
Manages the Payroll team to ensure high quality services at all times;
Monitors work status and quality, and manages staff;
Provides training and holds briefing sessions on service centre financial procedures;
Assists in developing new procedures and guidelines in payments and propose improvements;
Responds to queries from auditors;
Documents procedures, identify streamlining opportunities, and designs and executes them;
Designs mechanisms to measure performance and periodically report on them;
Implements, measures performance, evaluates and reports on Service Level Agreements;
Payroll data maintenance;
Payroll payments;
Payroll advices;
Generation of accounting and financial reporting
Pension administration, reconciliations, reporting and responding to queries from UNJSPF

Skills:
Essential:
- Excellent integrity;
- Tact in managing high volumes of payments;
- Excellent managerial and leadership ability;
- Ability to work under pressure/flexibility;
- Excellent leadership, management and organizational skills combined with the ability to produce innovative solutions;
- Excellent analytical skills;
- Excellent communication skills to present proposals in a concise, clear and logical manner;
- In depth knowledge of Oracle base HR and payroll
- Excellent IT literacy in MS Office is expected.
Experience:
Essential
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a large, complex, international organization, preferably within a Shared Service Centre or other financial transaction processing environment.
- Several years of progressive managerial responsibility;
Desirable
Experience in managing payroll within a UN context.
Having lead the Functional Analyst role in at least one full life cycle Oracle HR/Payroll implementation
Administration of employees' US taxes
