As responsible procurement specialist in Group Procurement you will play an important role in the process of setting consistent standards on human rights, environment and anti-corruption for the A. P. Moller - Maersk Group suppliers. In 2009 A. P. Moller - Maersk has joined The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) - both a policy platform and a practical framework for companies that are committed to sustainability and responsible business practices.

The A. P. Moller - Maersk supplier Code of Conduct is based on our own Principles of Conduct as well as the ten UNGC principles. The Code works as a requirement outline towards our suppliers, and thus is an opening point for a dialogue around existing working practices.

Our approach to Responsible Procurement is three-fold: awareness, transparency and commitment. We are working on: building awareness among our suppliers of the A. P. Moller – Maersk Code of Conduct, achieving Supply Chain transparency and building commitment with our suppliers towards jointly creating profitable and sustainable business practices.

Responsibilities within Responsible Procurement
We are currently looking for an addition to our ambitious Responsible Procurement team. As Responsible Procurement specialist you will be part of an internal support function of Group Procurement to the A. P. Moller – Maersk Group.
The successful candidate will work on further embedment and maintenance of Responsible Procurement aspects into the daily purchasing practices of the A.P. Moller – Maersk group. You will report as an advisory and support function to the Head of Responsible Procurement.

Your scope of responsibilities will include, among others:
  • Providing advice on the supplier CSR management to Group Procurement and its stakeholders in the Business Units
  • Providing input into and perfecting requirements and governance for Responsible Procurement capabilities in the Group
  • Tracking and evaluating Responsible Procurement performance of the Business Units
  • Being responsible for vendor management for audits, quality of self-assessment questionnaires and review of documentation
  • Conducting Responsible Procurement training workshops for the nominated Group’s purchasers
  • Managing add hoc projects and stakeholder management
In all of the above you will be in close co-operation with internal stakeholders across the world. You will also be wired into external, international specialist forums and ensure trends are captured and managed. You will be in contact with selected suppliers, providing input to training and contract management as well as helping to bring suppliers closer to the desired CSR performance.

Experience in Responsible Supply Chain Management
You have an extensive experience in implementing UN Global Compact or similar internationally recognised set of guidelines in a global supply chain either as a customer or a supplier. You have a good overview of the current trends within CSR and are a strong believer of the Beyond Monitoring approach.

You are committed to and experienced in changing minds and behaviour to make a difference to the working standards and conditions of people across the globe.

You are a quality oriented individual, who is comfortable in assuming responsibility. You have a strong sense of initiative and the ability to manage a project from start to finish. You are outgoing and polite, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English. You have good computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) allowing you to be effective in your presentations.
