| About this Job: | Dairy Development Authority (DDA) is a Semi- Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF). It is established under the Dairy Industry Act of 1998. Its Mission is “To provide dairy development and regulatory services that will ensure increased production and consumption of milk, sustainable and profitable dairy industry sector; contribute to economic development and improved nutritional standards in Uganda”.
In order to effectively fulfill its mandate, the Authority would like to fill the under listed positions: Job Title: Internal Auditor
Reports to: Principal Internal Auditor. Objective of the Job
To assist in caring out an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and standards by which DDA’s financial, physical and information resources are managed. Key Functions
1. Ensuring that all financial and other transactions of the authority are in compliance with established policies, procedures, principles.
2. Receiving of accounting information and returns from all stake holders and preparation of verified reports within specified and demanding deadlines.
3. Carrying out auditing and setting up internal controls to prevent fraud, loss, or waste of authority’s funds or assets.
4. Assist in planning and coordinating the implementation of audit programs, compiling audit reports there from and submitting them to the principal internal auditor, recommending appropriate courses of action, should the situation warrant.
5. Auditing stocks and stock movement of all commodities and supplies to ensure compliance with authority policies.
6. Ensuring that all records and ledger accounts are checked and certified.
7. Checking and verifying that all transactions are properly documented and have adequate, accurate, reliable underlying evidence.
8. Carrying out of regular field visits, surprise audits and spot checks in all areas of the authorities operations (stocks, supplies and cash) to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
9. Carrying out any special investigations as may be requested by the Principal Internal Auditor.
10. Ensuring that all financial and other transactions of the authority are in compliance with established policies, procedures, principles, practices and plans.
11. Following up contracts which involve the commitment of funds to ensure that their implementation is in accordance with agreed contract terms. |
