Health Economist

Our vision is of a world where no one is needlessly blind and where people who are blind enjoy the same rights as people with sight. Each year, we improve the lives of millions of people in the poorest parts of the world. Sightsavers is growing rapidly and offers a great place to work within easy reach of London and Brighton.

Location: Haywards Heath
Salary: £40,000 per annum

Sightsavers has an exciting opportunity for a creative and originally thinking Health Economist with extensive experience of applied health economics to contribute to evidence generating activities within our research programmes.

The role will be based within our newly formed Research Team and will have a primary focus on the design and delivery of economic evaluations, costing studies and decision-analytic models. Although the majority of our projects are in the area of health, we are keen to grow our portfolio of research in the areas of education and social inclusion.

The successful candidate should have demonstrable research experience in health economic evaluations/assessment of quality of life; a good working knowledge of econometric models and appropriate software; experience in using quantitative analysis techniques and bibliographic databases. With outstanding written and spoken communication skills in English, you will be skilled in establishing and supporting relationships with major research institutions and networks. Knowledge of low-income and middle-income countries is desirable.

Please see the job description for full details of the role.
