Senior Mechanical Maintenance engineer - Maersk Oil, Doha, Qatar

Maersk Oil Qatar AS is the leading oil producer offshore Qatar and a recognized pioneer in oil development and production techniques. On the basis of an Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) signed in 1992 with Qatar Petroleum, Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) is the sole operator of the Al Shaheen field.

The current oil production from the Al Shaheen field is approximately 300,000 barrels per day from nine different locations and is exported via two main offshore facilities.

Role Purpose

To manage integrity and reliability of Mechanical Equipment

Key Accountabilities / Activities

Health Safety & Environment:

  • Ensure timely and proactively follow-up on all relevant Synergi cases, ASTF findings and other relevant HSE issues within area of responsibility.

  • Ensure timely and proactively follow-up on all relevant shutdown reports within areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure vendor's personnel are pre-job briefed onshore, informed about offshore contact persons and informed about relevant HSE issues including relevant Offshore Safety Procedures (OSPs) before offshore mobilization.

  • Ensure vendor's personnel have the right technical qualifications and English skills before offshore mobilization.

  • Be familiar with and act according to the content of the Process Safety Pillars and Elements relevant for the position:

General:

  • Ensure technical, economical, environmental and safety aspects in all matters within areas of responsibility are assessed in a businesslike manner prior to making decisions or recommendations.

  • Ensure activities follow Company policies and procedures, hereunder confidentiality, as well as applicable International and Qatari laws, rules and regulations.

  • Develop and / or improve industrial and personal relations to protect the interests of the Company and promote a productive working environment.

  • Ensure timely preparation, hereunder obtaining approval as applicable, and submissions of all documentation to meet obligations to authorities and partners.

  • Ensure that all information, written as well as verbal, obtained in the course of the work is handled in strict confidence.

  • Live the Company values.

Specific:

  • Proactively plan, prepare and schedule future maintenance activities ensuring the required level of equipment integrity and reliability within areas of responsibility.

  • Proactively coordinate maintenance activities including vendor management within areas of responsibilities.

  • Attend and assist supervising major, important and/or critical breakdown jobs.

  • Provide inputs for shut down planning activities within areas of responsibility.

  • Prepare inputs to the yearly Integrity & Reliability reports within areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure that Company procedures, International as well as Local standards and legislation within areas of responsibility are adhered to.

  • Ensure that equipment documentation and Periodic, Preventive Maintenance (PPM) procedures are constantly updated within areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure proactively day to day offshore support and follow-up within areas of responsibilities.

  • Focus and deliver on agreed objectives and key performance indicators.

  • Prepare yearly budget and handle budget follow-up and cost control within area of responsibility.

  • Ensure day to day improvements.

  • Present results of analysis to management.

Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge enabling the individual to work independently within areas of responsibility and process operation in upstream oil and gas production with only some supervision.

  • Good analytical, coordinating, corporation and planning skills.

  • Result driven approach and attitude is required.

  • Good verbal and written English skills are a prerequisite for the position.

  • The strong operational and safety elements in the position requires 24/7 mindset.

Education /

Certifications

  • Accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree (BEng, BSc etc)

  • Chartered engineer (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years related multinational exposure, oil and gas,
