SPC is the largest regional provider of technical/scientific services and development assistance to Pacific Island countries and territories. Founded in 1947 as an international organisation, it has 26 member countries including the founding countries, Australia, France, New Zealand and USA. SPC’s headquarters are in Noumea, New Caledonia, with other offices in Suva (Fiji), Pohnpei (Federated States of Micronesia) and Honiara (Solomon Islands). Its working languages are English and French.

SPC seeks to appoint dynamic Directors to four of its divisions to:

  1. Provide vision, leadership, direction and management of the division to maximise impacts of regionally delivered services to SPC member countries and territories.
  2. Contribute strongly to SPC’s development, management and achievement of goals.
  3. Drive policy innovation and manage change.
  4. Lead the division’s resource mobilisation and manage budget expenditure and reporting.
  5. Develop and maintain strategic, collaborative relationships with clients and diverse stakeholders.

Directors are part of the senior executive team and are currently accountable to the Director-General.

Successful candidates will have: formal qualifications and significant experience in relevant technical areas; a strategic understanding of development issues in Pacific Island countries and territories; strong leadership and management skills; experience in working in a multisectoral environment and in leading culturally diverse multi-disciplinary teams; expertise in mobilising funding resources; and ability to work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders at national, regional and international levels.
