PATH, a nonprofit international health organization committed to improving health worldwide, is collaborating with the Tanzania Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Zanzibar Ministry of Health, National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Program (NTLP), Zanzibar TB/Leprosy Program (ZTLP), National AIDS Control Program (NACP), and the Association of Private Health Facilities of Tanzania (APHFTA) to support a coordinated public- and private-sector response to tuberculosis and HIV with support and funding through USAID and the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

The Finance Associate will serve as a team member in the finance and administration team in the PATH Dar es Salaam office. The Finance Associate will participate in facilitation of smoother financial and administrative operations of the Tanzania Country Program Office. S/he will work closely with the financial, administrative and technical teams, and will report to the Country Program Administrator.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Processing payments according to PATH standard procedures and ensure proper documents are dully approved by relevant authorized persons.
  • Reconcile Suppliers’ Accounts.
  • Monitoring of PATH Tanzania Bank accounts balances.
  • Performing monthly Bank reconciliations for all of the PATH bank accounts.
  • Reconcile staff advance accounts and send monthly statements to each individual staff.
  • Assist PATH staff and Non-PATH staff in preparation of Travel Expense Reports ensuring that all underlying supporting documents are in accordance to PATH and donor regulations.
  • Review, reconcile and posting of retirements in QuickBooks system.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly Field Office Financial Reports (FOFR) for timely and accurate submission to HQ.
  • Ensure proper filling of financial and administrative documentation in both hard copies and electronic copies.
  • Petty cash custodian and reconciliation.
Required Skills
  • Good financial and accounting skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to create and use tracking systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment with financial, administrative and technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience working in international organizations with US government funding is desirable.
  • Excellent skills in computerized accounting. Knowledge of QuickBooks packages a plus.
Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, or administration or related degree, plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably with an international organization; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
