The University of Luxembourg is seeking to appoint a new Vice President, overseeing all researchrelated activities of the university. This person will be a critical member of the senior management team. S/he will provide strategic leadership and vision for the research activities across all three academic faculties and two interdisciplinary centres (Biomedicine and Security/Trust). This role is crucial to the University’s evolution as a world-class research-led institution. The Vice President will oversee strategic direction-setting, research quality and evaluation, and help secure diverse funding streams. S/he will also be an ambassador for the organisation and represent it in national and international research-orientated communities. In addition, the Vice President will oversee the consolidation of research activities at the new purpose-built campus for the University at Belval.

Candidates will bring an excellent track record and reputation for scholarship and research. They will have experience in working within a senior management team in an academic or research institution, and they will be internationalists with experience of more than one university system. The ideal candidate should bring experience in leading in an innovative, growing and adaptable environment. A high degree of flexibility and the ability to motivate staff across disciplines is essential. A clear commitment to European collaboration will complement a flexible, results-orientated and engaging working style. Candidates should possess the proven ability to build and mentor diverse and multi-disciplinary teams. Fluency in English and French is mandatory and a good knowledge of German would be a distinct advantage.
