Under the strategic guidance of the Corporate Relations Manager, the Corporate Relations Specialist will be responsible for establishing new and growing existing corporate partnerships that support UNICEF in realizing sustainable benefits for children. Responsibilities include generating private sector income through regional corporate partnerships, leading the regional roll-out of global alliances and supporting country offices in building local income. The successful candidate will also lead new initiatives for corporate social responsibility and licensing in the region. 
 
 
Major duties and responsibilities
 
  • In close coordination with the Regional Chief of Partnerships, prospect and plan negotiations with companies, to generate additional income through regional and sub-regional alliances, primarily in countries with private sector fundraising activities.
  • Manage existing regional partnerships with multinational corporations, support the regional and local roll-out of global partnerships, improve liaison with National Committees.
  • Act as the Regional focal point for Corporate Engagement, including partnership development, events, and corporate social responsibility, and support the local roll-out of Corporate Engagement activities.
  • Engage with Communication and Programme teams regionally and locally to ensure coherence between CE and advocacy and programmatic activities.
  • Support the Regional Support Center planning and budgeting and training processes and activities from the perspective of corporate partnerships; liaise with the relevant units at HQ.
  • Develop a plan to engage with Small to medium Enterprises (SMEs).
  • Participate in strategic planning of Fundraising activities at country level; review program proposals and budgets in the context of corporate alliances and multi-sector partnerships; identify opportunities which will promote greater income generation. When necessary, this will require missions to Countries.
  • Act as the regional coordinator for the screening of all potential corporate partners and alliances, both at country and regional level
  • Support the development of content and the organization of regional fundraising meetings, trainingworkshops and other knowledge exchanges specifically focused on corporate engagement.
  • In coordination with the Corporate Relations Manager, develop and implement a Regional Corporate Strategy, covering all areas related with the Corporate channel (Fundraising, Licensing, Cause Related Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility), ensuring coherence in all areas related to Corporate counterparts. 
 
Education required
 
Advanced University degree in any of the following: Economics, Business, Fundraising or a related technical field. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
 
Experience and skills required
 
At least 5 years of professional experience in partnership development including specific experience in negotiating and cultivating relations with external corporate partners, either in the public or the private sector. Familiarity with Corporate fund-raising and/or Corporate Engagement would be an asset.

Fluency in English and Spanish.
