Development Advisor Qatar

The Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project includes the development of offshore natural gas resources in Qatar’s North Field. Upstream, natural gas is produced, transported and processed to produce 120,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day of condensate, liquefied petroleum gas and ethane. Downstream, dry gas is used as feedstock to produce 140,000 barrels per day of clean, high quality GTL fuels and products. 
Responsibilities:
The scope for the role is to provide the coaching and development support to the employees and their supervisors for national staff development in the technical skillpools: Discipline Engineering, Geosciences, HSSE, Logistics, Maintenance, Reliability & Turnaround, Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering, Production Engineering Upstream, Project Engineering, Research & Development, Wells

The incumbent will closely work with the business, HRiB, recruitment, talent, learning and skillpool managers and the departmental leadership teams. The role may have interfaces with counterparts in the national oil company (QP) in other companies in the oil and gas sector in Qatar.

Coordinate the implementation and provide input to the development programs for Qatari graduates and experienced hires in technical skillpools;

Ensure, in liaison with HRiB and the business, that national staff have a comprehensive on-boarding and development program;

Prepare with line manager five year structured development plan for Qatari staff and monitor its implementation;

Facilitate and coach national staff and the business for effective development discussions;

Manage the competence assessment process and ensure that actions are taken and followed up to address competence gaps;

Work with the line manager to identify training needs/learning required;

Coach and advise line managers and staff on development matters and give guidance on various development programs and career planning;

Provide functional input to the CEP assessment, succession planning and processes;

Partner with Learning to design and deliver Development programmes (example – ADP (Accelerated Development Programme);

Facilitate departmental talent forums


Requirements:
The incumbent must have 5+ years HR experience preferably in talent management and development;

Skilled in HR processes (competence development/assessment, coaching, counselling, talent, facilitation, change management);

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Experience working in diverse environments;

Team player with established professional networks and the ability to influence and motivate people from various backgrounds at all levels in the organization.
