Driveline Engineer Germany
We are currently looking to recruit a Driveline Engineer to join our Engine and Vehicle Technology (EVT) group in our Projects and Technologies laboratory in Hamburg.
Reporting directly to the Engine & Driveline Technology Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of innovative engine and/or driveline related product performance test and measurement activities.
Within Projects & Technology, Shell Global Solutions Downstream provides efficient and effective technology services to Shell’s Downstream businesses and selected third parties. We also provide the technology support and solutions that help to make our commercial products some of the best in the world.
Shell Projects & Technology (P&T) provides technical services, technology capability and major project delivery in both Upstream and Downstream activities. We also deliver differentiating technical information technology and drive research and innovation to create technology solutions for tomorrow.

In your new role as Driveline Engineer, you will:
- Ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed scope, timing and budget. This also includes delivery against tight deadlines and adapting to changing content and/or objectives of the programmes.
- Make sure that the technical and operational status of the test stands represent state-of-the-art in compliance with product performance evaluation demands.
- Develop and implement innovative, fit-for-purpose, driveline related product performance programmes and drive technical excellence.
- Deliver interpreted and fully documented engine and driveline test data to support the performance evaluations of automotive products.
- Be a key part of delivering programs from inception to completion.
- Provide automotive technology advice to product scientists.
- Continually follow automotive technology trends & developments through external contacts and networking in the industry
- Where possible, generate Intellectual Property to support new or existing products
- Maintain full compliance with relevant legislative and safety standards for test domains
- Ensure reported tests are valid and reports and test data are stored appropriately
- Take part in global P&T projects and initiatives
Requirements:
You will have a degree in mechanical, automotive engineering or similar, and proven professional experience in vehicle driveline technology.
In addition, you’ll possess significant knowledge in test execution, automation and measurement techniques. Additionally have a solid understanding of project management tools and methodologies.
Furthermore, we’ll expect you to have a broad understanding of engineering and scientific disciplines involved in a project in order to be able to liaise and communicate with these disciplines.
We have a strong team environment, hence good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in multinational, multidisciplinary teams is essential.
German language skills are mandatory and furthermore you should be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Occasional international travel to other locations is necessary, as the work dictates.Application Deadline: Wednesday 26 December 2012
